One flight behind us, four more to go…
We are on our way. We made Charlotte about 20 minutes behind original schedule. Flight was late leaving Huntington partially due to the weather, I suppose, but US Airways did a great job getting us here. We have approximately an hour and 40 minutes before our cross country flight to LA.
There was a great group of family and friends there at Tri State to see us off today. Special thanks to Bob and Becky Moses for coming to pick me up this morning so Linda wouldn’t have to miss too much work on the first day back from Christmas Break. She did make it to the airport in time to have a quick bite of lunch with us. Debbie Clark and Charlie Moore, and Darrell’s grand daughter, Ashleigh were there to see us off, as were Jean Calhoun and Joseph Spurgeon. No snow in Charlotte, bright and sunny but quite cool and windy.
Darrell and Thamer had a rough time getting through security at Tri -State. Thamer had a back brace that was causing the metal detector to go wild, and I suppose Darrell just LOOKED suspicious. Ha! Randall offered the TSA guy $20 to go ahead and arrest Darrell, but he was not willing to. I think he was holding out for more money!
Flight to Charlotte was mostly uneventful although at times it was very rough. Mark Befford of Befford's South Point Ford ("Where Connie Cares") was seated across the aisle from me. He was headed to Charlotte to see his father who is not expected to live through the night. Had prayer for him and witnessed to Mark.
I am not sure when I may be able to update again, but will do so at the earliest convenience. We should arrive in Dumaguete on Friday afternoon (their time if all goes well).
Love to all.
